Boulder City Council Candidate Ryan Jamieson Touts Climate Resilience and Fiscal Stewardship

Ryan Jamieson is running for Boulder City Council on a platform of climate resilience, simpler zoning, and housing affordability. The 46-year-old cybersecurity consultant has a background in the Army and finance, having served for four and a half years, including a tour during the invasion of Iraq, where he received a Bronze Star.

Jamieson's experience as an internal auditor at American Express and his time founding Knit Security have given him insights into navigating bureaucracy effectively. He proposes hiring a full-time, independent city auditor to operate alongside the city manager.

Jamieson opposes Boulder's use of Flock Safety cameras and supports stronger enforcement of the city's camping ban. He also criticizes the proposed $400 million Recreation and Safety Bond, citing the lengthy redevelopment process at Alpine-Balsam as evidence that the city should prove its ability to execute smaller projects before taking on larger ones.
