British Airways Deploys Boeing 777s on Short Routes Across the Caribbean and South America

British Airways operates a significant fleet of Boeing 777 aircraft, but it's not just for long-haul flights. According to data from Cirium, between August and March 2027, BA's 777s will be deployed on routes as short as 63 miles.

The airline's shortest routes flown by jets from the 777 series are all located within the Caribbean and South America, but they don't operate in isolation. Instead, they're part of one-stop itineraries originating in London or vice versa.

The six shortest routes include Antigua to Saint Kitts (63 miles), Grenada (118 miles from St. Lucia), Tobago (178 miles from St. Lucia), Georgetown in Guyana (530 miles from St. Lucia), and two routes from Nassau: 400 miles to Providenciales and 467 miles to Grand Cayman.
