British Airways Flight Delayed After Emergency Slide Accidentally Inflates Onto Catering Truck

A British Airways Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner had an unexpected delay at Montreal Trudeau International Airport after one of its emergency slides was accidentally deployed while on the ground. The incident occurred on Friday, September 4, when flight BA94's left rear evacuation slide inflated and collided with a catering truck upon inflation.

The aircraft had arrived in Montreal 20 minutes behind schedule, but the accidental deployment caused a further delay of three hours and 30 minutes. The flight eventually departed at 1:30 AM on September 5, and after a six-hour journey, it landed back at London Heathrow Airport two hours and 34 minutes late.

The incident had knock-on effects to subsequent flights, with one rotation being canceled and another operating several hours delayed. British Airways apologized for the delay and stated that technical error caused the deployment.
