Broadcom vs Nvidia: Who's Winning the AI Computing Stakes?
Nvidia and Broadcom are both contenders in the AI computing market, but which one has the better bull case? Nvidia is currently at the top of the AI computing food chain with a significant market share, while Broadcom is gaining ground with its custom AI chips. Despite Broadcom's rapid growth, Nvidia still dominates the market and is expected to continue growing rapidly.
Broadcom expects to double its AI semiconductor revenue for two more years, reaching $230 billion in fiscal year 2028. However, Nvidia already exceeded this figure in the second quarter of 2026 with $96.2 billion in revenue, and expects to reach $108 billion in Q3. Broadcom's growth rate is significant, but Nvidia's market share is still substantial.
The question is not whether GPUs or custom AI chips will be used in the future, but what kind of mix AI hyperscalers will buy. Both Nvidia and Broadcom are expected to continue growing rapidly, with Nvidia's revenue growth projected at 70% for fiscal year 2027.
