Brooklyn Woman Charged with Attempted Kidnapping of Four-Year-Old Boy

A woman has been charged in connection with the attempted kidnapping of a four-year-old boy in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

The suspect, identified as Chrissy Payne, 47, of Brooklyn, was arrested late Friday and faces charges of attempted kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

According to authorities, Payne is seen on surveillance video approaching the child outside a McDonald's on Eastern Parkway earlier this week. Investigators allege she tried to walk the boy across the street.

The child's grandmother was watching him at the time, and his mother, a New York City police officer, quickly intervened to prevent any harm.
