Buffett's Apple Bet: A Long-Term Winner?
Warren Buffett's favorite investment is Apple, and it shows no signs of fading. The billionaire investor has called Apple a standout investment, and his company Berkshire Hathaway holds nearly 22% of its $263 billion equity portfolio in Apple shares.
Buffett first invested in Apple in 2016, buying around $35 billion worth of shares over the next two years. That investment quickly grew to around $185 billion before tax, including dividends and gains, as Buffett boasted 'I didn't have to do a damn thing.'
Buffett has since sold some of his Apple holdings but still considers it Berkshire's largest holding. He even joked that Apple's outgoing CEO Tim Cook made more money for Berkshire Hathaway's shareholders than he ever did as CEO.
