Buffett's Legacy Continues to Pay Off at Berkshire Hathaway
Warren Buffett's legacy at Berkshire Hathaway continues to pay off in dividend income. The conglomerate's Coca-Cola stake, established in 1988 and largely untouched through market cycles, now yields $848 million a year in dividends. This figure is based on the company's current quarterly payout of $0.53 per share and its ownership of approximately 400 million shares.
Coca-Cola has increased its quarterly dividend for 64 consecutive years, with the most recent hike in February raising it from 51 cents to 53 cents per share. As a result, Berkshire Hathaway's dividend income from this single holding could soon exceed $1 billion annually.
The company's underlying business is also performing well, beating earnings estimates and growing global volume by 5% in the second quarter of 2026. Coca-Cola shares have hit new all-time highs this year, adding capital gains to Berkshire's dividend income.
