Burger King Roars Ahead of McDonald's Amid Burger Battle
Burger King's US sales surged in the latest quarter, rising 8.5% as customers flocked to its revamped Whopper burger.
The company's owner, Restaurant Brands International (RBI), credited Burger King's turnaround effort with drawing in customers, including updated restaurants and marketing campaigns.
McDonald's, on the other hand, saw a lackluster 0.8% increase in US same-store sales growth.
RBI said Burger King's performance extended overseas, with international restaurants enjoying 5.4% same-store sales growth.
