The Walt Disney Company and TikTok have announced a content-sharing deal that will allow creators to use Disney-owned characters, stories, and scenes from its films and TV shows in short-form videos. This partnership marks the first time TikTok videos will appear on another platform.

Under the agreement, TikTok creators will gain access to a vast library of content from Disney's brands, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, FX, and more. The videos will be available on both TikTok and Disney+'s Verts platform, which is designed for younger audiences who consume short-form vertical video content.

The deal aims to bring the creative expression of TikTok creators to Disney+ and provide fans with a new way to experience their favorite stories. According to Dawn Yang, TikTok's global head of entertainment, 'creators are at the heart of everything we do at TikTok.'

This partnership closely resembles a previous deal between Open AI's generative AI video platform, Sora, and Disney. The $1 billion agreement collapsed last year due to controversy in Hollywood and other challenges.
