Bystanders Shoot Man with Shotgun Outside Utah Convenience Store
A man armed with a shotgun was fatally shot at a Riverton convenience store on August 7, 2026. The incident occurred at the Holiday convenience store located at the Chevron off 12600 South in Riverton.
The man initially entered the store and demanded alcohol from the clerk, but the clerk refused to sell it to him because he did not have identification.
The situation escalated when the man confronted the clerk, prompting two bystanders who were also armed to step in and try to calm the situation. However, the man left the store, got into his vehicle, drove around the parking lot, and returned carrying a shotgun.
The two bystanders fired, striking the man inside the store. He then walked outside into the parking lot, where he died from his injuries.
