Caitlin Clark Roasts Toronto Tempo's Home Stadium
Caitlin Clark, the WNBA's biggest star, visited Toronto to play against the expansion team, the Toronto Tempo. While in town, she couldn't help but poke fun at their home stadium, Coca-Cola Coliseum, saying 'I think this is the first time I've played in an arena that has birds chirping. So congrats, Toronto.'
The stadium's modest size, seating fewer than 9,000 fans, and agricultural vibe were likely factors in her lighthearted jab at the team's home venue. Clark made it clear that she prefers the bright lights of Scotiabank Arena, which can accommodate up to 20,000 fans.
The Toronto Tempo ended their season with a loss to the New York Liberty on Sunday, but Clark acknowledged the team's hold on the city, saying 'The fans were amazing. Every single night it seems this place is packed.'
