Campus Switch Market Soars 19% in Q2 2026 Amid Component Shortages
The campus switch market experienced significant growth in Q2 2026, driven by skyrocketing prices due to component shortages. According to Dell'Oro Group, a leading market research firm, the average selling price (ASP) of campus switches grew 19% year-over-year, leading to positive revenue growth.
Siân Morgan, Senior Director at Dell'Oro Group, noted that 'every vendor outside China grew campus switch ASP on a year-over-year basis.' This is a direct result of AI-fueled component shortages driving up component costs and resulting in list price increases for nearly all campus switches.
Cisco and Arista were among the vendors that gained share on a year-over-year basis, along with Ubiquiti and Extreme. Public Cloud-managed switch revenue also bounced back and outgrew the total market, demonstrating the benefits of a recurring revenue model.
Memory shortages are expected to continue shaping the market through 2027, with ASPs rising and causing campus switch availability issues. Despite these supply headwinds, demand fundamentals remain strong, driven by switch refreshes and security concerns.
