Canada Adjusts Visa Processing Times for Indian Applicants
Canada's Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has updated its temporary residence processing estimates for Indian applicants. According to a report by CIC News, the update was made on September 16.
The estimated processing time for work permits from India remains unchanged at 10 weeks, which is higher than the three-week wait for those applying from the US and seven weeks for applicants in the Philippines. Study permit processing also remains unchanged at five weeks, lower than the eight-week wait for applications made from within Canada and six weeks for applicants in the US.
The estimated processing time for visitor visas has improved slightly to 29 days for Indian applicants, compared with 16 days for those applying from the US, 21 days in the Philippines, and 11 days for applications made from within Canada. Super Visa wait times have increased by a day to an estimated 70-day wait for Indian applicants.
IRCC updates temporary residence processing time estimates every week, with the next update expected around September 23. The department emphasizes that processing times are estimates and not deadlines or guarantees, as actual processing times can vary depending on factors such as application complexity and volume.
