Canada Post Cuts Stake in Caterpillar Amid Record Backlog

Canada Post Corp Registered Pension Plan has trimmed its stake in Caterpillar Inc., selling off 4,035 shares during the second quarter. The pension plan now owns 21,147 shares of Caterpillar's stock, worth approximately $22.5 million at the time of their most recent SEC filing.

This move is part of a broader trend of institutional investors adjusting their holdings in Caterpillar. Diamant Asset Management Inc., for example, boosted its position in Caterpillar by 68,427.2% during the first quarter, acquiring an additional 3.14 million shares in the process.

Other notable investors have also increased their stakes in Caterpillar, including Bank of America Corp DE and Cynosure Group LLC. The industrial products company reported a record $72 billion backlog at the end of the second quarter, signaling sustained demand for heavy equipment and supporting its upgraded 2026 sales outlook.
