Carbondale Man Charged with Stealing from Home Depot in Southern Illinois

A Marion man has been arrested in connection to a string of thefts at The Home Depot in Southern Illinois. Lester E. James, 59, of Carbondale, was taken into custody on September 29 after sufficient evidence led police to charge him with one count of felony retail theft and two counts of misdemeanor theft by deception.

The Marion Police Department reported that the thefts were allegedly committed by a single individual, and James' arrest followed an investigation. He is currently being held at the Williamson County Jail pending his first court appearance, which has not yet been scheduled.
