Carlisle Companies Leads Building Materials Earnings with 8.3% Revenue Growth
The Q2 earnings season for building materials companies has come to an end, and Carlisle Companies CSL takes top honors. The company's revenues rose by 8.3% year on year to $1.57 billion, outperforming analysts' expectations by 6.3%. This impressive beat was accompanied by a solid beat of analysts' EBITDA estimates.
Carlisle's success can be attributed in part to its strong brand recognition and relationships with builders and contractors. However, the company is not immune to the cyclical nature of construction volumes, which can be heavily impacted by economic factors such as interest rates.
Other building materials companies also reported strong Q2 results, including Sherwin-Williams SHW and Valmont VMI. Sherwin-Williams' revenues rose by 7.5% year on year to $6.79 billion, outperforming analysts' expectations by 3%. Valmont's revenues increased by 6.5% year on year to $1.12 billion, beating analysts' expectations by 2.6%.
However, not all companies fared as well. Resideo REZI reported a slower quarter, with revenue growth of only 2% year on year and significant misses in its EBITDA estimates and full-year guidance update.
