Cars Revs Up for 20th Anniversary Big Screen Return
Pixar's beloved animated film 'Cars' is returning to theaters nationwide for its 20th anniversary. The special engagement will take place on September 4, coinciding with Lightning McQueen Day on September 5, which celebrates the character's racing number, 95. This rare opportunity allows original fans and a new generation of children to see the classic film on the big screen in remastered, high-definition formats.
The event aims to bring audiences together to celebrate two decades of iconic racing history and timeless friendship. Since its debut in 2006, 'Cars' has expanded into a massive multi-billion dollar franchise with multiple feature sequels, television shorts, and immersive theme park lands.
Disney is expanding the 20th-anniversary celebration far beyond movie theater screens with festivities scheduled throughout the entire year. Fans can purchase new Cars merchandise, including exclusive collectible popcorn buckets at select Disney parks, as well as limited-edition die-cast vehicles, apparel lines, and unique home decor.
