CAT Stock Slips but Long-Term Momentum Remains Bullish

Caterpillar Inc., one of the world's largest manufacturers of construction and mining equipment, is down 25.9% from its 52-week high of $1,073.46 set on June 30. The company's stock has also declined 9.2% over the past three months.

However, when looking at the broader picture, CAT stock has surged 82.8% over the past 52 weeks, outperforming the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI), which rose 17.4% during the same period.

The release of Caterpillar's better-than-expected Q2 2026 earnings on Aug. 4 sent its stock rising by 5.6%. The company's revenue for the quarter came in at $20.5 billion, surpassing Street estimates, while its adjusted EPS for the period was $8.17, also beating forecasts.
