Caterpillar Brings On-Field Branding to Gies Memorial Stadium

The University of Illinois Athletics has announced a multi-year partnership with Caterpillar, which will feature on-field branding at Gies Memorial Stadium. According to Illinois Athletics, the Caterpillar logo will be displayed on both 25-yard lines, marking the first time an on-field logo will appear in the stadium's history.

The partnership is significant, as it marks a major change for Gies Memorial Stadium ahead of the Illini's 2026 season. The stadium has undergone several changes recently, including the installation of the largest video display in college football through a partnership between U of I Athletics and Daktronics.

Illinois Director of Athletics Josh Whitman expressed his gratitude towards Caterpillar for their collaboration, stating that 'Both Fighting Illini Athletics and Caterpillar have a proud legacy and respected reputation in the state of Illinois, and we are each experiencing sustained growth and success.' He also mentioned looking forward to building a relationship with Caterpillar in the years ahead.
