Caterpillar Expands Autonomous Quarry Operation with Luck Stone Partnership
Caterpillar is expanding its autonomous quarry operation partnership with Luck Stone to two more Virginia quarries, deepening its role in quarry automation.
The company's Cat 775 truck fleets will be equipped with Caterpillar technology for autonomous hauling after logging over 3.5 million tons autonomously since November 2024 at the Bull Run site.
This expansion fits within Caterpillar's push into higher-tech, higher-value offerings and reinforces its services and software angle that many investors consider key to the company's thesis around backlog quality and margins.
