Caterpillar Expands North Carolina Capacity, Acquires Dealer Amid Double-Digit Growth
Caterpillar is set to expand its compact-equipment manufacturing capacity in North Carolina by USD 1.0 billion, according to an announcement made on September 30, 2026. The company's stock has gained 1.61 percent following the news, reaching a price of EUR 745.80 at Lang & Schwarz on October 2, 2026.
The expansion is aimed at increasing Caterpillar's capacity for Cat Compact products, which are used in housing, infrastructure, and jobsite construction. This move places manufacturing capacity at the center of the company's growth strategy, rather than relying solely on daily stock fluctuations.
Caterpillar also announced its intention to acquire John Fabick Tractor Company, a Cat dealer operating across Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with 37 locations. The transaction is expected to close within 30 days subject to regulatory approval.
