Caterpillar Invests $1 Billion in Compact Equipment Manufacturing Capacity
Caterpillar Inc. is investing $1 billion to expand its compact construction equipment manufacturing capacity as demand for versatile machines continues to grow.
The project supports Caterpillar's Cat Compact strategy, which aims to provide small contractors and growing businesses with a simpler way to buy, rent, and service compact equipment.
The investment includes plans for a new manufacturing facility in Sanford, NC, which will increase production of compact track loaders and telehandlers. These machines are used for material movement, jobsite management, and productivity-related applications across several end markets.
