Caterpillar Invests $1 Billion in NC, Illinois Returns Life Insurance Funds
Caterpillar Inc., a global heavy machinery company, has announced plans to invest $1 billion in North Carolina. The investment will be used to expand manufacturing capacity and build a new facility in Sanford.
The decision was made due to the state's strong workforce and existing manufacturing expertise, as well as Caterpillar's long history in North Carolina.
The Illinois Department of Insurance also made headlines this week, returning $9.3 million to consumers through its service for lost or unclaimed life insurance policies and annuities.
