Caterpillar Invests $1 Billion in North Carolina Expansion
Caterpillar has announced a significant expansion of its operations in North Carolina, investing approximately $1 billion to boost manufacturing capacity for compact equipment.
The project involves building a new factory in Sanford, North Carolina, which will increase production of compact track loaders and telehandlers.
Rod Shurman, President of Caterpillar's Construction Industries Group, stated that the investment aims to meet growing demand for compact equipment across various industries, including construction, landscaping, agriculture, and material handling.
The expansion is expected to strengthen Caterpillar's ability to serve customers in these markets. The Sanford facility will also support the company's US manufacturing operations and create jobs in areas such as automation, robotics, digital manufacturing, and production systems.
