Caterpillar Invests $1 Billion in North Carolina for Cat Compact Expansion
Caterpillar Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, is investing $1 billion in North Carolina to expand its Cat CompactSM business.
The investment will go towards building a new modern manufacturing facility in Sanford, North Carolina, which will increase production of compact track loaders and telehandlers.
Caterpillar's Construction Industries Group President Rod Shurman said the company is committed to serving growing customer demand for compact equipment by investing in advanced technologies and automation.
