Caterpillar Invests $1 Billion in North Carolina Manufacturing Expansion
Caterpillar Inc., a leading manufacturer of heavy equipment and machinery, is set to invest $1 billion in North Carolina to expand its manufacturing capacity. The investment will support Caterpillar's growing Cat Compact business, which caters to small contractors and growing businesses.
The new facility in Sanford, North Carolina, will increase production of compact track loaders and telehandlers, versatile machines used across construction, landscaping, agriculture, and material handling applications.
Caterpillar Construction Industries Group President Rod Shurman stated that the investment is aimed at meeting customer demand for compact equipment, which continues to rise. The new facility will incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, digital production systems, and integrated logistics capabilities to improve safety, quality, and operational performance.
