Caterpillar Invests $3M in North Little Rock Facility to Boost Arkansas Job Growth
Caterpillar Inc., a leading heavy machinery manufacturer, is investing $3 million in its North Little Rock facility to boost Arkansas job growth as part of its company-wide $100 million Building the Future Workforce Initiative. The move aims to prepare Arkansas workers for jobs in modern manufacturing and technical roles.
The North Little Rock facility has been operational since 2010, initially producing motor graders but later expanding production to include medium wheel loaders and paving equipment. Caterpillar officials stated that the facility has adopted advanced manufacturing technologies to improve efficiency, quality, productivity, and cost management while prioritizing workplace safety.
Caterpillar currently employs 530 people in Arkansas and does business with 60 suppliers statewide. The company's investment supports collaboration among training institutions, students, employers, and community organizations to provide affordable, workforce-focused training opportunities. This initiative aims to create hands-on manufacturing pathways for students, increase technical training capacity across the region, and strengthen employer engagement through partnerships.
