Caterpillar Reaches Record Quarterly Sales and Revenue
Caterpillar Inc., the heavy equipment manufacturer, reported its second-quarter 2026 results. The company's sales and revenues increased by 24% to $20.5 billion in the quarter compared to $16.6 billion in the same period last year.
The strong performance was driven by higher sales volume of $3.1 billion and favorable price realization of $595 million. Caterpillar Chairman and CEO Joe Creed attributed the company's success to its customers' essential work and the dedication of its employees worldwide.
Profit per share for the second quarter of 2026 was $7.77, while adjusted profit per share was $8.17. The company generated enterprise operating cash flow of $4.4 billion in the quarter and had $6.7 billion of enterprise cash at the end of the period.
Caterpillar deployed $2.2 billion of cash for share repurchases and dividends in the second quarter, with $1.5 billion spent on stock buybacks and $0.7 billion on dividend payments.
