Caterpillar Roars Past Q2 Estimates with Strong Revenue Growth
Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) released its Q2 CY2026 financial results, beating analyst expectations in revenue and earnings per share. The company reported a 24% year-over-year increase in revenue to $20.54 billion, exceeding estimates by 8.4%. Its adjusted earnings per share of $8.17 also surpassed predictions by 31.8%, up from $6.20.
Chairman and CEO Joe Creed noted that this was the first time Caterpillar had generated over $20 billion in sales and revenues in a single quarter.
The company's operating margin expanded to 20.9% from 17.3% in the same period last year, driven by increased leverage on its cost of sales.
