Caterpillar Stock Stays Strong Near $800 Amid New Credit Lines
Caterpillar stock has held steady near $800 as of September 1, 2026, with shares trading at $797.72 on the New York Stock Exchange and a market capitalization of $364.11 billion.
The company's balance sheet has been strengthened by new credit lines, totaling $11.5 billion in aggregate commitments.
Caterpillar entered into three facility agreements: a 364-day facility for up to $3.5 billion expiring on August 26, 2027; a three-year agreement for up to $3.0 billion maturing on August 27, 2029; and a five-year agreement for up to $5.0 billion maturing on August 27, 2031.
These facilities are available for general corporate purposes, but as of the report date in late August 2026, Caterpillar stated that borrowers had not drawn on any of the credit lines, indicating that the $11.5 billion represents committed backup liquidity rather than immediate funding pressure.
