Caterpillar has announced a historic milestone in its quarterly sales and revenue. The company's second quarter of 2026 saw $20.5 billion in sales and revenue, marking the first time in the company's history that it has reached this figure. This represents a significant increase from the previous year's second quarter, with a 24% rise to $20.5 billion from $16.6 billion.

The Power & Energy business segment reported a substantial increase of $1.201 billion, reaching $8.238 billion in sales. This growth can be attributed to strong order rates and a growing backlog across all three primary segments. The company's financial division, Cat Financial, also saw a 10% increase in revenue for the quarter.

Caterpillar's CEO stated that this milestone 'underscores both the essential work our customers do every day and the dedication of Caterpillar employees worldwide to solving our customers' toughest challenges.'
