Caterpillar Teams Up With FieldAI on Physical AI and Robotics

Caterpillar and FieldAI have partnered to develop physical AI, robotics, and digital twins for industrial jobsites and manufacturing environments.

The collaboration aims to improve safety, productivity, and operational efficiency amidst labor shortages and increasing productivity requirements.

FieldAI's AI-enabled robot foundation models will be combined with Caterpillar's industrial expertise, engineering capabilities, and operational data to create autonomous systems that can operate in complex and dynamic environments.

The initial applications include autonomous inspections for increased safety and operational visibility, as well as digital twins of jobsites and facilities providing real-time information about equipment, infrastructure, and operations.
