CCBA Launches Business Training Program in Mozambican Province
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) in Mozambique has launched its business training program in Manica province, targeting 50 women and young people in Chimoio. This initiative is part of the Women and Youth Empowerment and Valuation Initiative (VEMJ), which aims to equip entrepreneurs with essential skills to start and expand their businesses.
The training program covered topics such as marketing and sales, business management fundamentals, and financial management. Participants received a business start-up kit, including a cooler box, a parasol, and initial product stock. This support is designed to help informal traders overcome common challenges, such as limited access to business skills, financial planning knowledge, and resources needed to sustain and expand their businesses.
Neyde Pires, CCBA Mozambique's Public Relations, Communication, and Sustainability Director, stated that people are at the center of everything they do, including entrepreneurs who are part of their route to market. The company's approach is based on a local development model, producing, distributing, and sourcing goods locally whenever possible.
