Cedarville Sprints Past Ashland with Four Goal Blitz
Cedarville University's men's soccer team dominated Ashland University in a 4-1 victory on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets' offense was led by Brady Johnson and Yonis Velasquez-Quezada, who each scored twice.
Velasquez-Quezada opened the scoring with a free kick from just beyond the 18-yard box in the 30th minute, giving Cedarville a 1-0 lead at halftime. The team broke the match open with three quick goals early in the second half, starting with Johnson's chip shot off assists from Bryan Cortina and Eddie Merck.
Cedarville continued to push forward, with Johnson scoring again minutes later with Merck and Hayden Hoxie providing the service. Velasquez-Quezada completed his brace less than a minute later from the penalty spot, giving the Yellow Jackets a commanding 4-0 advantage.
