Chanel Redefines Classic Codes for Fall/Winter 2026
For Chanel's Fall/Winter 2026 collection, creative director Matthieu Blazy drew inspiration from Gabrielle Chanel's legacy, reinterpreting the house's classic codes in a new light. The theme of metamorphosis was at the heart of the collection, where freedom to choose between being a 'caterpillar or butterfly' is emphasized.
Blazy played with surfaces, textures, and how they shift with movement, bringing iridescence into conversation with Chanel's codes. Even in winter, the collection carries a sense of renewal, reminding that transformation has no season. The clothes shimmer, shift, and reveal new dimensions with every movement.
The Obsession Issue explores this idea through rich textiles, from tactile tweeds to soft knits, shimmering embellishments, intricate details, and layered textures. Classic Chanel materials take on a new character as color moves across the surface, while expressive silhouettes give each look a distinct personality.
