Chapek Exposes Disney's 'Classless' Treatment After Ouster
Former Disney CEO Bob Chapek has spoken publicly for the first time about his departure from the company in November 2022. In a recent interview, he revealed that he hasn't set foot in any of the Disney theme parks since being ousted as CEO. When asked why, Chapek explained that 'it would be very difficult' for him to visit and 'attach that to what I've seen.'
Chapek's tenure at Disney was marked by controversy, particularly around his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. He claimed that then-CEO Bob Iger reasserted himself as CEO without consulting Chapek, saying 'You signed my death warrant.'
Chapek also spoke about how he felt after being removed from the company history and left off the guest list for Disney's 100th anniversary. He said it was 'like I didn't exist' and that the treatment he received was unwarranted.
