Chapek's Disney Memoir Reveals Pandemic Decision-Making

Bob Chapek's memoir about his time at Disney will be released this year. The book, titled 'Behind the Castle Walls', recounts his tenure as CEO of the Walt Disney Company from 2020 to 2022. Chapek was named CEO just weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down parks, resorts, and film production.

In the memoir, Chapek breaks his silence on his time at Disney, including his ousting in 2022 when Bob Iger returned as CEO. Chapek co-wrote the book with Don Yaeger and it will be released on September 29, 2026, for $30.

The memoir offers a behind-the-scenes account of Chapek's time at Disney, including his decision-making during the pandemic. Chapek has said that he wants to share what he hopes will be his true legacy and is still a lifelong fan of the company.
