Chenault's Post-Amex Odyssey: Travel Focus at General Catalyst

American Express (Amex) veteran Kenneth Chenault left his role as CEO in 2018 to join venture capital firm General Catalyst, citing a desire to be at the 'core of things' and mentor future leaders.

Chenault spent 17 years leading Amex, building one of the world's largest customer loyalty programs. At General Catalyst, he serves as chairman and managing director.

The firm has been increasing its focus on the travel space, backing private equity firm Long Lake Management.
