The United States and Kazakhstan are seeking measures to ensure uninterrupted operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) following the suspension of oil loading at Russia's Novorossiysk port.

Chevron Chief Executive Mike Wirth said that all CPC shareholders remain committed to keeping the pipeline operational, despite a prolonged shutdown being considered unlikely.

A prolonged disruption would pose significant challenges for oil exporters in the region and energy projects in Kazakhstan reliant on the pipeline.

Chevron could potentially redirect part of its production through alternative export routes, including transport across the Caspian Sea or by rail.
