Former President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden and California Governor Gavin Newsom have accused Chevron Corp. (NYSE:CVX) and ExxonMobil Holdings Corp. (NYSE:XOM) of profiting from the war in Iran.

Hunter Biden shared a screenshot on social media platform X showing that Chevron posted a 400% year-over-year jump in profits to $12 billion, while ExxonMobil reported a profit of $14.5 billion.

'You paid for all of it at the pump,' Hunter Biden said, noting that Trump's policies are benefiting Big Oil.

Gavin Newsom's official Press Office handle also slammed Chevron, accusing them of 'fleecing Californians' with gas prices that are no better than their competitors.
