Chevron USA and Louisiana are at odds over where a lawsuit belongs regarding damages to coastal wetlands. The oil giant argues that the case should be in federal court after a recent US Supreme Court decision.

Paul D. Clement, arguing on behalf of Chevron USA, stated that 'it's obvious' the case should be in federal court based on what the Supreme Court has said in the Chevron decision.

Counsel for Louisiana's Plaquemines Parish countered that the high court's decision was narrowly focused on the specific case and does not apply to this one.
