Chevron announces executive reshuffle ahead of CEO transition
Chevron has announced significant leadership changes ahead of its CEO transition. Effective January 1, Chief Financial Officer Eimear Bonner will take over as president of Chevron’s oil, products, and gas business. She succeeds Mark Nelson, who will step down from the role but remain as vice chairman to focus on strategy and business development.
Jeff Gustavson, currently president of Chevron’s new energies business, will replace Bonner as CFO. Gustavson previously led Chevron’s efforts in powering data centers with natural gas. Before her finance role, Bonner served as Chevron’s first female chief technology officer and managed the company’s joint venture in Kazakhstan.
The executive reshuffling follows CEO Mike Wirth’s recent announcement that he is in discussions with the board about succession. Wirth, who has led Chevron for nearly a decade, indicated he does not expect to serve more than 10 years in the position.
