Chevron Announces Leadership Shifts Ahead of CEO Transition
Chevron has announced significant leadership changes, effective January 1, 2024. Eimear Bonner, currently the company’s Chief Financial Officer, will take over as president of Chevron’s oil, products, and gas business. Bonner, who previously served as Chevron’s first female chief technology officer, will replace Mark Nelson, who will step down from his role but remain as vice chairman focusing on strategy and business development.
Jeff Gustavson, currently president of Chevron’s new energies business, will succeed Bonner as CFO. Gustavson has been instrumental in the company’s initiatives, including powering data centers with natural gas.
These changes come as Chevron prepares for a transition at the top, with CEO Mike Wirth discussing succession plans with the board. Wirth, who has been in the role for nearly a decade, indicated he does not expect to serve more than 10 years as CEO.
