Chevron Announces Major Leadership Shifts for 2027
Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) has announced several key leadership changes set to take effect on January 1, 2027. Mark Nelson, currently vice chairman and executive vice president of Oil, Products & Gas, will retain his role as vice chairman but shift his focus to Strategy and Business Development. His new responsibilities will include identifying and advancing opportunities to strengthen Chevron's portfolio and support long-term growth.
Eimear Bonner, the current Chief Financial Officer, will transition to the role of president, Oil, Products & Gas. In this position, Bonner will oversee safe and reliable operations across the entire value chain, disciplined capital allocation, and asset class excellence to drive stronger performance. Jeff Gustavson, currently president of New Energies, will take over as Chief Financial Officer, managing global audit, investor relations, tax, treasury, and business planning activities.
Brent Gros, currently president of Offshore, will become president of New Energies. He will lead Chevron's lower carbon businesses, including hydrogen, power, carbon capture, offsets, and biofuels. Additionally, Gros will oversee the company's AI strategy, focusing on value creation, operational excellence, cost efficiency, and innovation.
Mike Wirth, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chevron, expressed confidence in the new leadership team, highlighting their operational expertise, strategic perspective, and proven ability to deliver results.
