Chevron Eyes Expanded Exploration and Production in Egypt Amid Growing Energy Needs

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with a delegation from global energy company Chevron to discuss expanding their exploration and production activities in Egypt. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, where President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was represented by the Prime Minister.

Madbouly praised the cooperation between Egypt's petroleum sector and Chevron, highlighting the company's experience as one of the world's major energy players. He expressed Egypt's interest in strengthening their partnership to take advantage of government incentives and assess areas that align with Chevron's strategy and technical capabilities.

The Prime Minister emphasized that expanding investment, drilling, and exploration activities could help secure additional natural gas supplies for Egypt. He also stated that the government is ready to provide necessary support within established investment rules and procedures to accelerate project implementation and achieve tangible progress in exploration and production in the coming period.
