Chevron Lands Major Oil and Gas Discovery Offshore Angola
Chevron Corporation has confirmed an oil and gas condensate discovery at the 105-4X exploration well in Block 0, offshore Angola. The well, drilled in the Lower Congo Basin, encountered a hydrocarbon column exceeding 600 meters in the primary Pinda reservoir.
The company indicated that the discovery will be evaluated for potential development as a tie-back to existing nearby facilities. This could provide a capital-efficient route to production.
Chevron's Vice President of Exploration, Kevin McLachlan, commented that this discovery marks another important milestone in Chevron's over 70-year history in Angola. It highlights the combination of high-impact exploration with infrastructure-led opportunities near existing facilities to grow the resource base and create value.
