Chevron Price Target Hiked Amid Valuation Concerns
Analyst Jason Gabelman from TD Cowen has maintained a Hold rating on Chevron despite recent strong execution and cost debottlenecking efforts. The price target for Chevron was raised to $205 due to these improvements, but Gabelman still sees risks in valuation and corridor disruptions.
The company's robust second-quarter operational and financial results are attributed to downstream strength and debottlenecking at the Tengizchevroil project. This is expected to enhance long-term free cash flow and expand high-quality investment options.
However, Gabelman notes that much of the improvement in Chevron's free cash flow yield has already been reflected in the stock price, limiting upside from current levels. He also points out near-term uncertainties related to export disruptions through the CPC corridor.
