Chevron reshuffles leadership for 2027 transition
Chevron Corporation has announced major leadership changes set to take effect on January 1, 2027. Mark Nelson, currently vice chairman and executive vice president of Oil, Products & Gas, will shift his focus to Strategy and Business Development. His new role will involve identifying and advancing opportunities to strengthen the company’s portfolio.
Eimear Bonner, the current Chief Financial Officer, will transition to president of Oil, Products & Gas. In this position, she will oversee operations across the entire value chain and capital allocation.
Jeff Gustavson, currently president of New Energies, will take over as Chief Financial Officer. His responsibilities will include audit, controller, investor relations, tax, treasury, and business planning activities worldwide.
Brent Gros, currently president of Offshore, will become president of New Energies. He will lead Chevron’s lower carbon businesses, including hydrogen, power, carbon capture, offsets, and biofuels, while also overseeing the company’s AI strategy.
Mike Wirth, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, praised the new leadership team, noting their operational expertise, strategic perspective, and ability to deliver results. The changes reflect Chevron’s ongoing efforts to manage both its traditional oil and gas operations alongside its growing lower carbon energy initiatives.
