Chevron Stock Jumps on Reports of Venezuela Oil Deal Talks
Chevron stock rose by 0.5% after reports emerged of potential deals to invest billions in Venezuelan oil fields.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Chevron is close to a deal to expand its operations in Venezuela, adding two new heavy-oil fields to its portfolio.
Halliburton Company, one of the largest U.S. oilfield services firms, is also in talks with Venezuelan oil producers to bring its equipment to the country.
