Chevron Stock Soars as HSBC Lifts Price Target to $250
Chevron's stock price has been boosted by HSBC's revised price target of $250, representing a 21.85% increase from its current intraday price of $205.17.
According to HSBC, Chevron's sensitivity to elevated oil prices is a key factor in their analysis, driven by the company's upstream exposure and liquids content.
However, HSBC also notes that lower 2027 US Henry Hub gas price assumptions could counteract some of this effect, particularly given Chevron's gas and LNG exposure.
Chevron's Q2 earnings report showed a significant increase in revenue and net income, with total revenues and other income rising by 56.3% to $70.055 billion, and net income attributable to Chevron increasing by 384.8% to $12.072 billion.
